Winter on the Farm Mixed-Media Glass Shard Painting

This mixed-media piece is constructed of a fused glass moon, thousands of hand-cut glass shards, and wire for a 3-dimensional effect, all mounted on primed 1/2″ hardwood plywood. Each shard was carefully placed with strict attention to color and directionality to create a beautiful, dynamic winter scene. Exposed copper wire will patina over time, creating a living piece of art. Epoxy grout in both clear and gray bring everything together and ensure the final construction is secure. The glass shard painting was finished with a handmade wood frame, painted to coordinate and elevate the finished work. The piece measures 15″ x 20″ excluding the frame.
